Seven Feathers Casino Resort Employee Receives Prestigious Hospitality Award

A long time team member at Seven Feathers Casino Resort was recently named the Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association (ORLA) Employee of the Year. Bartender and Floor Specialist Alex Canete, who has worked at Seven Feathers for 17 years, was honored in September at the annual ORLA conference that hosted over 300 restaurant and hoteliers from across the state.

“In our business, I feel like the outgoing, hospitable, friendly people are really what makes us successful, and Alex is the best we’ve got at creating that type of environment,” said Rod Debban, Executive Director of Hospitality at Seven Feathers Casino Resort.

“I grew up in the Phillipines, where hospitality isn’t something we learn at work; it’s something we grow up with. We welcome people with open arms and make guests feel like family,” said Canete. “I love helping people, lifting up my coworkers, and making sure our guests leave happy. If I can make a difference in their day in some way, then I am happy. I believe people remember how you make them feel.”

ORLA represents all restaurants and hotels in the state of Oregon.
