Thanks for Supporting the Contest of Heroes!
On Thursday, September 18, Cow Creek Tribal Police Department and Tribal Fire Management personnel helped staff at Los Dos Amigos serve food and bus tables for two hours as part of the “Challenge of the Heroes.” This annual event invites local police, fire, and emergency medical service professionals to serve food at area restaurants, with a portion of the proceeds donated to support Douglas County child abuse prevention initiatives.
While many of the local agencies have been participating for years, this was the first time Cow Creek Tribal Police and Fire were invited to join in. Between Tribal Police and Fire Management, the Cow Creek Umpqua Tribe was represented by twelve public servants, and patrons were excited to interact with these local “heroes,” as well as learn more about the new programs.
If you weren’t able to make it to the event this year, don’t worry, they’ll be back at it in 2026!
