Tribal Members Invited to Celebrate 40th Anniversary in April

In 2022, the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians is celebrating 40 years since receiving federal recognition from the U.S. Government.

In honor of 40 years of Tribal achievements, the Tribe will commemorate the occasion with Tribal Family Night on Saturday, April 30 at Seven Feathers Casino Resort in Canyonville, Oregon.

All Cow Creek Tribal members and their families are welcome to attend the event in the Umpqua Grand Ballroom (Convention Center) on Saturday, April 30. Tribal members are asked to RSVP (click here to RSVP now online) before April 28.

The evening’s schedule of events will consist of:

  • 4PM Doors open
  • 5PM Welcome
  • 5:30PM Dinner served
  • 6:30PM Program begins

The anniversary signifies the vast leaps in progress that the Cow Creek Government has made in incorporating critical services for Tribal members, as well as the building of a network of Tribally-owned businesses that also afford for Tribal members to receive healthcare, eldercare, higher education, housing and careers.

In addition to hearing from Cow Creek Tribal leadership about the importance of the anniversary, food will be provided, as well as the unveiling of a documentary about the history of the Cow Creek Tribe. The documentary is being produced by Cow Creek-owned graphic design business, Anvil Northwest.

The Cow Creek Tribe was given federal recognition as a sovereign Tribe on December 29, 1982 when President Ronald Regan signed the bill authorizing it. Below is the official announcement notifying Tribal members when the bill was signed.

There are several ways to RSVP for the event:
