Cow Creek Umpqua Tribe, Seven Feathers Casino Resort Unveil Historic Holiday Light Spectacular

Over 1.5 Million Lights Transform Exit 99 into Douglas County’s Premier Holiday Destination

CANYONVILLE – Seven Feathers Casino Resort and the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians invite families from all over Southern Oregon to celebrate the start of the holiday season with the inaugural “Light the Sky” event, marking the largest holiday celebration in Seven Feathers’ 33-year history. On Friday, November 28, from 4:00-5:00 PM, guests are invited to witness the moment that more than 1.5 million holiday lights set up throughout Exit 99 in Canyonville are illuminated and dazzle the night sky.

“This is a momentous occasion for Seven Feathers, and for the Cow Creek Umpqua Tribe,” said Tribal Chairman Carla Keene. “This holiday extravaganza represents our commitment to Douglas County and Southern Oregon. We all need a little extra joy and wonder right now, and our community deserves something magical—a place where families can come together and create lasting memories during the holidays.”

The free, family-friendly lighting ceremony will take place at the main entrance of Seven Feathers Casino Resort and kicks off the property’s Winter Wonderland celebrations, which will run through January 1, 2026. At 5:00 PM on Friday, November 28, Chairman Keene will flip the switch, triggering a synchronized lighting display that requires 22 team members positioned across Exit 99 to coordinate the spectacular moment.

“Everything the Cow Creek Umpqua Tribe does has family at the heart,” said Tribal Chairman Carla Keene. ” When we can bring families together and strengthen our community bonds, everyone benefits. This is an evening to celebrate everything wonderful about the holiday season, being with loved ones, and seeing an incredible light show to put you in the holiday spirit.”

A Vision Years in the Making

“For years, this has been something the Cow Creek Umpqua Tribe and Seven Feathers leaders have wanted to do,” explained Harold Phillips, Director of Marketing at Seven Feathers. “We’ve always wanted to have a massive holiday light extravaganza at Exit 99 — something that makes people driving on I-5 pull off the highway to see it. Our team at Seven Feathers always does a fantastic job decorating for the holidays, but this year we decided we need something even bigger, even brighter, and even more magical to celebrate.”

The ambitious project has been months in preparation, with Seven Feathers facilities teams working to prepare and install lights across the Exit 99 property since August. The transformation encompasses Seven Feathers Casino Resort, Seven Feathers RV Resort, 7 Feathers Truck and Travel Center, and Creekside Hotel and Suites. Inside the casino, over 80 decorated holiday trees will be on display throughout the facility.
