Bringing Home the Prize

Congratulations to the Cow Creek and Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians joint canoe team for their recent awards at Mill-Luck Salmon Celebration and Canoe Races.

The CCBUTI/CTCLUSI men’s team won first place in their division and set a record time of 4:48. The women’s team also won first place, and the youth team won second place.

The races took place near the Mill Casino on September 9 and 10.

Many of the CCBUTI/CTCLUSI team members who competed in the Mill-Luck Canoe Races were also part of the joint team that participated in the Intertribal Canoe Journey to Muckleshoot in July.
