A Glimpse of the Eclipse
Despite the cold and the clouds looming over the skies, Tribal families and staff gathered at the Tribal Gardens on October 14 to learn, socialize, play, and hold a slim hope of seeing the annular solar eclipse that passed over Oregon that day.
The Education Department provided a number of STEM-based activities, such as water pressure-powered rockets constructed from soda bottles and cardboard, painting, and more. Toward the end of the eclipse, the clouds thinned just enough to allow a small glimpse of the astrological event.
The Youth Activity Committee immediately followed the eclipse event with the annual Fall Gathering celebration, featuring food, fun, Halloween costumes, and a trunk or treat.
